Borovets Opens Summer Season with New Mountain Bike Park

2010-06-10   |  www.visitbulgaria.net

The official opening of the new summer season in Borovets mountain resort will take place on 19 June 2010. This summer the resort’s managing company Borosport has a lot of surprises for all mountain lovers.

The newest attraction in the resort is the Borovets Mountain Bike Park with 20 kilometers of marked trails winding through the forest with varying degrees of difficulty.

The green trails are appropriate for children and beginners. The blue trails are for intermediate mountain bikers – they are ideal for improving one's skills and preparing for riding the red routes. Experts can try the most difficult red trails.

The pride of Borovets Mountain Bike Park is the downhill slope. It is 2,200 m in length and has a 400 m vertical declination. The extreme downhill slope is only for professionals.

The park will be serviced by the Sitnyakovo express lift over the course of the summer season. The bikers will be at the start point in 5 minutes and the price of the daily passes will be 20 BGN (10 EUR).

Borovets resort is situated in Rila Mountain at 1,350 m above the sea level. One of the advantages of the Borovets Mountain Bike Park is that it is easy accessible – Borovets is situated about 70 km away from Sofia.

Another advantage is that the Borovets Mountain Bike Park combines beautiful nature with excellent terrains for mountain biking routes.
