COASTAL RESORT IN BULGARIA MARKS START OF SUMMER SEASON 2007
The Bulgarian Black Sea coastal resort of St Konstantin and Elena near Varna officially launched summer season 2007.
The resort's managing company St Konstantin and Elena Ltd expects the number of hotel accommodations this season to increase by 10 per cent in 2007, Dnevnik daily reported.
Based on the already signed tourism contracts, the resorts expects to see a majority of foreign tourist visits from Germany, the Scandinavian countries, Russia, the UK, Israel, Romania and Poland.
Despite the unfavourable climate on the German and UK tourism market for this season, the hotel base has been managed in order to reach high levels of occupancy. The resort managers signed nearly 70 contracts with partners from more than 25 countries.
The construction of a new five-star hotel complex is expected to start after the end of the season. The complex will have 570 beds, a spa complex, restaurants and night clubs.
St. Konstantin and Elena Ltd together with its daughter companies manages 10 hotels of nearly 2200 beds, 906 of which part of a four-star hotel base.
