The Biggest City Park on the Balkans to Be in Kardzhali

2010-07-21   |  BULGARIAN PROPERTIES

The construction of the biggest city park on the Balkans – Arpezos-North in the Bulgarian town of Kardzhali is expected to start in the next month. There is great interest in the construction of the park which is only natural having in mind the fact that according to urban experts it will be unique.

The first construction phase will include the building of zones, sectors and alleys. The park will include a children’s zone with three playgrounds and water features – a big fountain, two cascades, a small round fountain and a waterfall. There will also be a big parking lot.

The park will be planned so as to facilitate the access of people with disabilities – for example, the curbs will be marked with special rubber tapes and the playgrounds will have corners for children with disabilities.

The second phase of the project will include the communal center of the park. It will be designed as an area welcoming and seeing off the visitors coming from the center of the town of Kardzhali through the City Garden to the area by the river bank and Arpezos-South.

The park will also have a summer theater with 1,300 seats around which there will be areas where people can go during the intervals.

There is also a design for a lake with an area of about 5,200 sq.m. around which there will be wooden platforms with deck chairs, decorative water features – a waterfall and a geyser, and small bridges.
